Professor at the State University of Music in Mannheim (Germany)

Elena Graf was born in Frankfurt in 1988. She began her musical career at the age of 12 at the Freiburg University of Music. Later, she continued her graduate studies in Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt, with renowned teachers such as Julia Fischer and the Artemis Quartet.

From 2014 to 2024, she was concertmaster for the Staatsorchester Stuttgart. At the same time, she was working hard as a teacher. Having taught regularly in Frankfurt and Stuttgart since 2016, she was appointed professor at the State University of Music in Mannheim in 2023.

As a soloist, she has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Shanghai Philharmonic and the Staatsorchester Stuttgart, with international broadcasts of her concerts. She is also a leading chamber music performer, appearing at significant festivals in Germany, South Africa and Brazil, often with renowned musicians.

She regularly collaborates as guest concertmaster with leading ensembles such as the Staatskapelle Dresden and the Bayerische Staatsoper. Also, in 2015, she co-founded the 3klang cultural centre.

She has been awarded several prizes, international recognition in competitions and scholarships from institutions such as the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and the Migros Kulturprozent.

Between 2005 and 2019, she played a violin by Giambattista Rogeri, and since 2021, she has been playing the ‘Tullaye’ violin by Stradivari (1669), on loan from L-Bank Baden-Württemberg.
